who tend your Church in countless ways
and rule over her in love,
grant, we pray,
that your servant
Archbishop Charles Thompson,
whom you have set over your people,
may preside in the place of Christ
over the flock whose shepherd he is,
and be faithful as a teacher of doctrine,
a priest of sacred worship
and as one who serves them by governing.

when you left your home for a new mission.
Dear Mother Theodora,

as he tends to the spiritual and temporal needs
of the faithful of
southern and central Indiana.
May he remain confident
in God’s unfailing providence.

We ask you to sustain with your Spirit
our Holy Father Pope Francis
as well as the shepherd you have chosen for us,
Archbishop Charles Thompson.
May the bond of love and loyalty
between these two leaders
show itself in fruitful service
to the faithful throughout the world
as well as in central and southern Indiana.

Heavenly Father, in these days that lead to remembering with joy the installation of the shepherd you have chosen for your people in central and southeastern Indiana, we offer our prayers that Archbishop Charles Thompson’s time of service here will continue to please you and bear good fruit by your grace.
July 19 – Father in Heaven, may Archbishop Thompson be the spiritual father that you desire him to be.
July 20 – Lord Jesus, may Archbishop Thompson follow your loving example as the Good Shepherd.
July 21 – Holy Spirit, anoint Archbishop Thompson with the power to be a servant leader who helps sanctify the faithful through his ministry.
July 22 – Guardian angel of Archbishop Thompson, remain at his side always—lighting, guarding, ruling and guiding him on the path of God’s love.
July 23 – Most Blessed Virgin Mary, pray for Archbishop Thompson’s success in our heavenly Father’s eyes and, ultimately, for his eternal salvation.
July 24 – Blessed Saint Joseph, foster father of our Savior, pray that Archbishop Thompson will continue being a blessing to the Church you love so deeply.
July 25 – Saint Charles Borromeo, pray that Archbishop Thompson will be an effective teacher of the Faith, as you were with God’s help.
July 26 – Saint Benedict, through your intercession may the prayer and work of Archbishop Thompson complement each other for the glory of God and the salvation of souls.
July 27 – Holy Trinity, One God, bless Archbishop Thompson with a strong sense of your love and an ardent desire to spread the love of God and neighbor throughout central and southeastern Indiana.
Lord God, you have given us the great day of
rejoicing: Jesus Christ, the stone rejected by
the builders, has become the cornerstone of the
Church, our spiritual home. Shed upon your
Church the rays of your glory, that it may be
seen as the gate of salvation open to all
nations. Let cries of joy and exultation ring
out from its tents, to celebrate the
wonder of Christ’s resurrection.
